Families @ the M

As the M is expanding, so are its offerings for children and families! Look for artist-led youth workshops in the summer at the M’s new learning space, the Josephine Adele Ford Center for Creativity, and bring the kids for our regularly scheduled Family Days, which offer interactive experiences for kids of all ages. Need a stroller? We have some available to borrow on request.

The M’s Wide Open Studio is available for drop-in making activities anytime you visit, filled with free art supplies and creative projects designed by local artists. Be sure to ask our team at the front desk for the M’s in-gallery Family Guide, and make your visit to the museum even more memorable.

Remember: Visiting the M is free. There’s no need to wait for a special occasion. Families are always welcome!

Family Day: Expressions of Dignity, Honor, and Love

Sun., Feb. 16, 1 – 4 p.m.
Free and open to the public
Minnesota Museum of American Art | 350 Robert Street North, St. Paul

Featuring: Empowerment Story Hour with Justice Alan Page!

How do you express dignity, honor, and love for a friend, relative, or neighbor? Gordon Parks used his camera and words, creating photos, films, poems, and books to share his understanding of and hopes for our world. Come to the M for a free afternoon of creative fun for all ages, inspired by the photography of Parks, Jamel Shabazz, and Den-Zell Gilliard on view in the galleries.

Family Days are free and offer interactive, artist-driven experiences for kids of all ages, which animate the entire museum through a theme. If you’d like to make a donation, we suggest $5 per family or group.
