Listening Session:
Rochester Art Center
Saturday, April 22, 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Spring Catalyst Southern Minnesota Artists Resource Fair
Rochester Art Center | 40 Civic Center Dr. SE | Rochester, MN
The M is participating in Rochester Art Center’s Spring Catalyst event, with a listening session to hear your experiences about how art fits into your day-to-day life.
- Is art important to your community? If so, in what ways?
- Does American art, as you see it in museums and galleries, reflect your life and that of your friends and neighbors
- What programs would you like to see, or see expanded, for the arts where you live?
The M is working with cultural organizations around the state to hold community discussions tackling questions like those you see above. Through these conversations, we’re hoping to glean information about the changes necessary to make museum spaces like the M truly inviting and open to all who are interested in the arts.
To that end, the M is partnering with Rochester Art Center (RAC) to hold a listening session as part of the many workshops and programs on offer through the day in RAC’s southern Minnesota artists resource fair, Spring Catalyst. Visit the Rochester Art Center’s website for details about the full day’s line-up of guest speakers, workshops, and panel discussions.
Admission is free, but registration is required to attend to ensure there are enough materials and food available for all participants. The registration deadline for Spring Catalyst is midnight on Monday, April 17, 2017. No prior arts experience is needed to participate in the M’s Listening Sessions. In fact, we encourage anyone with a curiosity in the arts, or who is interested in broadening the reach and impact of regional arts and culture, to join the conversations.
The M’s Listening Sessions are supported, in part, by the taxpayers of Minnesota, thanks to a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
