The M is bringing all the fun of the museum’s Family Day programming to the Ordway! Get your tickets to hear the Okee Dokee Brothers perform, then come early for kid-friendly activities and artists brought together by the M. Join sound art duo Beatrix JAR for a unique sound making experience, bend circuits and play with electronic instruments to put your own twist on natural soundscapes. Move with dancers Brian J. Evans (Stuart Pimsler Dance Theatre) and Alanna Morris-Van Tassel (one of Dance magazine’s “25 to Watch 2018“). Grab a brush and add colors you love to any number of beautiful designs made by artists from GoodSpace Murals. Make animal stick puppets with artists Kallie Melvin and Sophie Cameron. Pin your own story to our Minnesota map and see how your family’s stories intersect with those around you. Sample water from a variety of sources in Mnísota, and chat about the myriad ways water flows through our lives (whether we know it or not) at the Mniówe/Water Bar, a collaboration between Water Bar, Healing Place, and Dakhóta Iápi Okhódakičhiye (Dakota Language Society).
Note: The M’s family activities at the Ordway on March 3 are only for ticket-holders to the Okee Dokee Brothers concert (ticket info).
This event is part of The M Off-Site series of programs happening throughout the Twin Cities, while the M is closed for construction of its new facility.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
