We the People Curators in Conversation

Tuesday, September 12, 6 p.m.
Minnesota Museum of American Art
Admission is free and open to the public

A moderated panel discussion with the M’s guest curators for We the People and American Art: It’s Complicated curator Dyani White Hawk.

Christopher Harrison, Johnnay Leenay, Mary Anne Quiroz, and Maggie Thompson will discuss their roles as guest curators for this exciting exhibition, and speak about specific works they chose to include. In addition, We the People guest curators will talk with Dyani White Hawk, who was a guest curator for the M’s 2015 exhibition, American Art: It’s Complicated, about the continuing importance of making space for conversations about the complexities of “American-ness” in American art.

These activities are related to the M’s ongoing exhibition, We the People, on view through October 29, 2017. The exhibition and its related programs are free and open to all, unless otherwise specified.

This exhibition and its accompanying programs are made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant and an Arts Access grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Thanks also to Target, and to the ACLU of Minnesota for supporting the Response Wall.
